A protégé of flamenco legend Manitas de Plata, British guitarist Adam Westcott fell in love with flamenco in 2002 after seeing a live performance in Spain. From that moment, Adam has dedicated his life to the study of this magnificent art form which has seen him performing in venues all over the world, as well as performing live on BBC Radio many times.

We're delighted that Adam's chosen Yamaha Music London to perform this August!

Adam Westcott:

Adam was the support act for multi platinum selling saxophonist Kenny G at a sold out Royal Albert Hall, performing for 5, 250 people. Adam’s life changing moment was in 2007 when he was introduced to the music of Manitas de Plata. This new found music was a whole new world was everything Adam had been searching for. In 2012, Adam had to meet his idol. He had to thank the man who had changed his life. He searched high and low for his idol and found him in the South of France:

“I went down just to say thank you, but it turned into so much more. It was unbelievable!”

There was an instant friendship between the two and this was the beginning of a new chapter. Manitas, who was discovered by Pablo Picasso in 1964, showed Adam so many techniques and changed his philosophy in music. It was life changing. Manitas was the rock star of flamenco, selling 93 million albums, and is the father of the Gypsy Kings. In 1965, Manitas and Dali created beautiful art together in Carnegie Hall, New York. Adam has performed on both American and English television, including ITV’s “All Star Mr & Mrs”.
