TransAcoustic is the name we have given to the technology that powers a new breed of piano. At its most basic level, it uses the soundboard as a speaker. This means that any sound can be delivered through this naturally resonant piano component; perhaps the most scintillating sounds are generated when you combine the acoustic and digital properties of the instrument - gentle orchestral strings under a natural piano, for example.
Join us this March when internationally-acclaimed classical pianist Maya Irgalina and multi-faceted pianist and composer Matt Finch will be using the TransAcoustic piano for a unique and mesmerising performance.
Hailing from Belorussia, Maya Irgalina is an emerging star of the classical concert platform. Amassing prizes and acclaimed at many of the world's most prestigious piano competitions, she has performed at London's famed Wigmore Hall and The Barbican and has broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Joining Maya on the TransAcoustic will be Matt Finch who, in between a busy performance schedule finds time to teach, compose and guest with a wide range of bands.
